Me and Emily where wanting to get a picture taken with the image of Toy Story 3 in the foyer but by the time we came out of from the movie there was such an astonishingly large queue that we couldn't get in to take a photo so its a shame and i was really looking forward to doing it but i guess its just something that i will have to pass by.
as always with Pixar movies there was an interesting and beautifully done short before the movie started.
In the past we have had Luxo Jr, Knick Knack, Geri's Game, For the Birds, Boundin', One Man Band, Lifted, Presto, Partly Cloudy and now we have.....
Day & Night........
this is a very well made short and although it doesn't spell it out it is subtly talking about discrimination and was made with the hope to entertain and at the same time educate the younger generation if only for the short 6 minutes it was on screen.
It was great to see 2D and 3D animation coming together to make a great little short that was really funny and beautifully made.
There is a videos on Pixars YouTube Channel that talk about the making of Day&Night and the idea behind it and thought process during the making.
I personally loved this short and although i still feel that Presto is without doubt my favorite, Day&Night comes a VERY close second.
So ye the short was great and so was the movie.........so the movie was well worth the 11 year wait and was a great watch and it was awesome seeing and hearing people from the age of 20-30 laughing and talking about how they remember the first Toy Story and how much they had been waiting for this.
WARNING SPOILER
So the movie is set when Andy is at the age of 17 and going off to college, this is an age when you start thinking about moving on from your childhood and starting to become an adult so he must choose what to do with his toys.
Andy decides to take Woody with him to College but what would he do with the other toys..........after a little bit of confusion and a lot of debating Buzz and the rest of the gang all decide that rather then staying up in the attic or getting thrown away it might be best if they are all donated to Sunnyside Daycare but Woody tries to stop them.
When they get to Sunnyside everything seems lovely and the gang decides to stay there but Woody needs to get back to Andy before he leaves for College so he heads off.....
but after he leaves its not long before the rest of them realize that the wonderful place it had been made out to be and is in fact a destructive and soul crushing prison that they would never escape from.
Woody finds out all about this and goes back to save them and break them out......
its a massive struggle but after a long journey then finally make it back to Andy and they decide that it would be better in the attic as they would still be there for Andy but Woody feel it might be better if they where to be with a new family and writes a note to Andy suggesting they be donated to a young girl that would take good care of them and play with them always.
Spoiler Over
I will admit that i did well up by the end of the movie and was almost at the point of crying but i didn't get quite there.....
i noticed while watching the movie that there where a lot of funny moment that where aimed at the people who saw it 11 years ago and it would really nice to see that Pixar have thought about the generation that was there when it all started for them.
so, thats it for now guys and i hope that you liked this post......if you haven't seen Toy Story 3 yet i highly recommend going to see it and if you can defiantly see it in 3D with the glasses as it just adds a little extra to it.......
remember its the movie 3D was made for ^_^
well till next time.....bye for now.

Hey DJ, it was absolutely amazing......defiantly worth the wait and the extra money to see it in 3D.
i hope they leave it there though. if they did another one i feel it would be a little to much and wouldn't be the same.
