Well i think i have done it, i think i have burnt myself out and its not good.
for the last 3 days i've been sat at my computer and drawing in my sketch books trying to work out animations but i'm just not able to do it, its like i've forgotten EVERYTHING i knew about animation and how to animate and it sucks.
after talking with Chelsey who is a fantastic animator and a great friend from over in the states i think i've worked out what it is thats giving me this mental block.
basically i've been trying to do WAY to many things at once and its just caused burn out, with me starting up this business with Adam im trying to learn Blender so im going through all aspects of the software to try and become accustomed with it so i can do things such as Texturing, Rigging, Lighting, Animating, etc...
the problem is that as well as all that i'm doing my best to learn Maya as well, now as many of you may know Maya is a git to learn and is still hard to use even for people who know it quite well so im struggling like crazy with it but i need to get my head around the animation and interface side of it so that i can do the work for the Cerebus animation.
so to resolve this issue (hopefully) i have took a slight step back from the company to focus my attention on Maya and the project for What Comix Entertainment.
Since i only have till the middle of March to get the animation for Cerebus done im a little worried that its not going to look that great but i will defiantly do my very best.
with a little luck as well i might be able to throw together some animations to show at Animex this year, im not going to the Animex Lounge so i wont really be needing my portfolio but it would be nice to have some work to show people that i have talked to in past years during some food and maybe a cheeky pint ^_^
all in all i think this idea of taking a step back will help me out a load and will get me back on track, plans for tomorrow are reading through Acting For Animators and Timing For Animation.......then tutorials on Maya interface.
Now, on a personal note (i guess).....i am selling my copy of Eric Goldberg: Character Animation Crash Course (which i talked about in my last post) on eBay for £10 + £3 p&p
Basically, during Christmas my house had a slight flood and the book got water damaged, now it hasn't effected the print in any way but has wrinkled the lower half of the pages and mainly towards the end of the book. It still has the DVD with extremely useful content and would be a great buy for anyone doing animation as a professional or a hobbyist.
This book was a great help to me and im sure it would be a great help to you also.
