For fuck sake is this all you ppl can get hold of for entertainment i mean really
you guys out there get some porn entertain yourself

or if your not into porn like i know many of my mates ain't into it
prods cos all they need to do is look at me and they get enough excitement lol
watch a movie, take up an instrument like the guitar and don't say i can't play anything musical I'm sure you can fucking play a triangle
and i don't want anyone saying
"but its more then just them sitting on a sofa and talking they also do challenges"
like what......all they can do is run around a garden or find something in the house
i mean god why don't you all get off your lazy arses and go run around a garden instead of watching other people do it.
1. you get fit
2. you get fresh air (yes i know you haven't had any in weeks now)
3. you might make some friends
i mean really......why the hell do they have this dumb ass show on virtually 24 hours a day....and i think that if you have sky you can get different cameras up to c whats happening.....at 1:30 in the morning what the fuck do you think they are doing.....there a fucking sleep....but still you sit there concentrating on a TV screen wondering if there going to do anything....if your waiting for something like sex to happen what do you think the chances are that the ppl who control the cameras will show that on TV....i mean really they cut the sound off whenever they say ANYTHING half the time.
I'm sorry if this has offended anyway i know i have called you all sorts of things but it just really makes me pissed off that non of you will miss 1 second of watching people that you don't even know....and if you do know them that fine i understand that you want to show your support by watching them but god it doesn't have to be every waking second of the 7 weeks it on (i think its that long i don't really care)
well i hope someone out there will reply to this either agreeing or arguing with me im not bothered which one it is i will hold a convo with you and discuss it if you want.

I think youv over simplified the appeal of the show. While i can certainly attest to the drying of paint simularities of watching it twenty four eyes a day, and especially when they are a sleep, i believe there is a voyouristic entertainment to be had watching it.
I have often found myself watching the show towards the end of a series, and probably not at all at the beggining. This is because by this point the participants have truely forgotten the cameras, and you see real conflict developing and, probably due to confinement, Peoples personalilties blow out of proportion. It becomes a characatured reality. And you as the veiwer get drawn to certain characters based on your own beleifs and values. Iv had discussions with friends on who was being a wanker on the show the night before, who started the arguement, why i feel sorry for that girl etc etc. Its all the dramas of day to day life but for once not having to be fucking involved lol. And so its entertaining, i know its hard to imagine because every time youv switched the sounds been muted or everyones asleep or nothing happening but iv seen some real gems of human behaviour in there.
One year a guy called alex, a real vain guy, was apparently a male model. He was spending hours on his hair. This girl come sin to find him asd as she approaches the door he hears her, you see panic grip his face and he sprints to the door. Hides behid it just as it slams open. THe girl looks inside and cant see him, but proper cartoony sort of exagerated looking. She leaves calling out 'where is he?' and the door swings closed to reveal Alex with a smug look on his face unknowing staring straight at the camera. It felt like you were in the room and it was hysterical. It was such a cliche thing to do but in real life no one see's you do silly things like that. No one sees those moments you wish every had.
In Big Brother, on the edited highlights shows at least, you do and it can be magic.
To be fair i think the majority of your arguement is levelled at people watching the show 24 hours. I believe this constant exposure is simply the shows producers being lazy with other programing/taking advantage of idiots. But i present this arguement on the bases of watching the hour long edited program they do each day.
And to conclude i can play guitar (a bit), have a girlfriend, i skate and snowboard, im an animator too and watch big brother.
Maybe you should too, as a character animator its a treasure trove of observational gems. Just watch an episode and sketch people body language and expressions. It can be pretty useful.

wow i never thought of it that way Anonymous, i never thought to look at it from an animators point of view.
i see what you mean about using BB as a study of human emotion and body language, i still stand by my comments about it being ridiculous to site and watch BB all night while they sleep.
i'll give it a second chance and look at it in a different way, trying to see how people act in a "normal" situation, rather then watching Actors who are trained to show these emotions (and sometimes do a rubbish job of it) i'll give "normal" everyday people a study instead.
